Summer Fun Challenge Day 7

Let me first of all apologise for the bad pictures, I can't find my camera :-O so I had to use my phone.
Today's challenge is the second to last one, "Summer Stylin'" Were we are supposed to create a mani based on our favourite piece of summer fashion. So I went with something Black Milk inspired. Black Milk is my new obsession. I did this design to go with their Owl Swimsuit, scroll down the page for a picture.

I used my faithful A-England Camelot for the black base and used Bundle Monster Stamp no. 309 for the owl designs. I then, not so carefully dotted some Color Club Antique on the owls body and mixed Antique with Bettina Starfish for the eyes and detail on the flowers to help coordinate the colours with the swim suit.

Edit: Here's a pic from the camera, I added some metallic orange stripes

Color Club All About Color Set with Neons!

I picked up this and a few other sets in my local TK Maxx shop for a whole £9.99 for 7 polishes. 4 of them glow nicely under UV light.

I tried them all out, all of them needed 2 coats and dried fairly quickly. For the neons I used a white base coat as this seems to be better than trying to get them to be opaque on their own and it makes the colour nice and bright.

Here is the orange under a UV light:

The pink is slight darker and more neon in real life.

I, for some reason, only did one coat of the purple, which is a shame. Its a really nice purple and looks less blue tinged in real life, I think it'd make a nice gradient mani with one of the neon pinks.

I really liked this green, its minty and it still glows a little under the UV light.

This is slightly more purple and slightly darker in real life

Floam!

I saw swatches of this a while back and thought it looked really unique but I couldn't find out where to get it so promptly forgot about it. Until I came across it on the blog that belongs to the lady that makes it, Nailventurous. I had to get some, there really is nothing else like it out there, I ordered it from Ninja Polish and it came really quickly. I have to admit to not knowing what "floam" actually is or was, I've googled it and I'm not really any the wiser but its the polish I like so I don't mind. Its basically like blue and green glitter in a clear base, only the glitter isn't shiny :) I used color club's new bohemian as a base, you could layer floam though as its really dense and dries quickly. This is 2 coats of new bohemian and 1 coat of floam.

I decided to add another layer of floam to make it more opaque.

And then topped it off with fast forward topcoat from china glaze

This is now one my favourite polishes, I cant wait to try it on some other bases and I think it'll be interesting to stamp over. Amy (Nailventurous) will be opening her etsy store soon but you can find her on facebook as well.

Color Club Revvvolution & Ludurana Arco-Iris

Its another sunny winters day so I thought I'd get out one of my untried holo's.
I picked up Color Club revvvolution ages ago and just haven't got round to using it and to be honest as pretty as it is, it just isn't very me, I might put it up for swaps, see if I can find something more suitable.

Here's a pic of it in sunlight, my camera doesn't seem to be able to pick out the rainbow of colours in it very well.

I then decided to add my favourite flakie because it makes any polish look better :)
I purchased Ludurana Arco-Iris from Llarowe, she is fantastic, has great customer service and really reasonable shipping prices.

Out of the sun you can see the multi coloured flakies so vividly and in the sun they are a little more subtle but the holo of revvvolution shines through, I might leave this one for a few days :)
