CND Shellac Married to Mauve

I received the new shellac colour, Married to Mauve, this morning and had to try it out straight away

I paired it with Lecenté Golden White glitter, sprinkled in to topcoat on two fingers and burnished in to the colour coat on two other fingers.
It's an absolutely gorgeous colour, I think it would look amazing matte...

Testing...

It's been such a long time since I've posted. When people Google my business name a lot of pictures from this blog appear so I'm just seeing if I can get some of my newer work to show up...no one needs to see 5 year old polish photos 🤣

I started doing nails full time from June last year and made the decision to have my own home salon from April this year, so far all is going well and I appreciate all my amazing clients, friends and fellow nail technicians who've helped me along the way.

I'm currently a CND master painter with a level 2 & 3 NVQ In Nails, using NSI liquid and powder, CND shellac and Lecenté glitter/pigments based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, UK

CND Modern Folklore Collection

Today I had the pleasure of spending the day "playing" with the entire Modern Folklore Collection from CND (minus the vinylux)

This is the autumn collection so the colours are very rich, jewel tones.

Indigo Frock is a really unusual shade of blue/grey which i think will look great mattified. Plum Paisley is a deeply pigmented purple. Rose Brocade is a sheer red that's bang on trend at the moment. Crimson Sash is a luxurious looking red. Fine Vermillion, one of my favourites, is am amazing metallic orange. Locket Love is a perfect gold, many have been waiting for this colour for a while.

The additives, I was super excited about, are all perfect. They are pigment effects so they are not solid colours and take on aspects of whatever colour you put them on top of. For my bases I used Studio White and Black Pool.

CND Paradise Collection

CND recently came out with a new collection of Shellac and Additives, having a limited budget I only picked up the additives and will get the Shellac at a later date.

The pack came with a free thumb pallete and mini spatula which are made from a lovely brushed metal (I just love anything with the CND logo on it)

From the top we have Sizzling Sands, a multicoloured white glitter, Tropic Sunrise, a bright yellow pigment, Island Heat, an orange golden hued pigment, Pink Lotus, a gorgeous pink pigment and last but not least Midnight Tide which is a shimmery blue pigment effect.

Below is Tropic Sunrise next to the Yellow additive

Here are some shots of Pink Lotus and Haute Pink

Then we have Midnight Tide with Cerulean Blue and Deep Blue for comparison (midnight tide is in the middle)

Sizzling Sand looks amazing over Black Pool and subtle over Cream Puff

Here's a macro shot of it in the container

Below we have Tropic Sunrise and Yellow with 2 other yellow pigments for comparison, all over Cream Puff

This is Island Heat with a neon orange pigment (Both over Cream Puff)

This is Pink Lotus with Haute Pink and 2 other shades of pink, all over Cream Puff.

And last I compared Midnight Tide to Deep Blue, Cerulean Blue (all over Cream Puff) and Blue Heaven (over Black Pool)

Here's a macro shot of Midnight Tide to show its shimmer

Happy New Years...some CND shellac, acrylic & nail art

It's been too long since I posted, I've given up apologising as I guess I'll just post as and when I have the time, hope no one minds :-)

This post will mainly be pictures to be honest, I'll write details if I can remember them.

The nails below were for my birthday/holiday. I attempted a 3d flower which worked out...okay. I used Frosted Glen CND shellac, which is one of my all time favourite colours. I went for simple black and white on my toes, I think the design is meant to be like the inside of a shell, I had these on forever, haha.

I kept my nails this shape and length for a while and just changed the design, below are my attempt at a "glam turtle"

And these purple ones I did to match a dress for a Christening, they took about 5 hours as I didn't have a clue what I was doing. The owls were stamped on and dotted with colour, the roses were hand made decals. These were one of my favourites from the year.

I also learnt some fiddly stuff in college, 3D roses, gems and twirls made using acrylic (liquid & powder)

I did quite a lot of different nails over Halloween but the orange and black were the ones I liked the most, done with polish for a change. I also customised a skeleton hand bracelet for my Halloween costume, I used acrylic, various glitter and rhinestones.

I also won a competition and got some Irresistible glitters which are amazing, I did a super glitter pink leopard print design (using CND shellac)

I played some more with foils, I did my mums nails (using CND shellac) and then loved them so much I copied them using Vinylux and foil adhesive.

I learnt to make jewellery with polish and CND shellac from a fellow nail technician

And some of my college work was put into a Calender to help make money for a local charity

These were my Christmas nails, I went for classic red and gold, using CND shellac, glitter and some stamping to finish off.

And last but not least my New Years nails, I will end the year with my favourite shape and colours. Hope everyone has had a good year x
